Melodie "Pooh" Jones,
Membership Organizer

Pronouns: She/Her

Melodie Jones started with Women on the Rise in June 2022 as the Assistant to the Executive Director. Melodie was harshly convicted of a crime during her teen years, and spent  20 years of her life incarcerated inside of Georgia State Prisons. During her time inside she used her access to the system to improve herself and the women around her. She completed many programs inside such as receiving her license in cosmetology, completing the dog program, vet tech program, along with welding and a multitude of other skills.

Melodie did not hesitate to share her skills and drive and what kept her successful during her prison sentence, which proved for her to be perfect for the role she was promoted to in August 2022 as Membership Organizer. Since starting her role Melodie has been able to foster relationships with members of Women on the Rise that promote stability and safety for women reentering society. Melodie’s motto is “I am well read, not well lived”. Melodie is growing our membership base and continuing to learn to live life on the outside.
